The coronavirus pandemic poses particular risks for people living in informal urban settlements. Transmission of the virus is more likely. Tackling it will be more difficult. Economic impacts will be felt more keenly — livelihoods are precarious and there is an increased risk of eviction.
Muungano is working to leverage on our presence in and understanding of informal settlements across Kenya. We want to track the situation and make sure slum residents are seen and supported.
