Public Participation

The plan seeks to provide a framework for coordinating urban development from 2014-2030. The preparatory state involved bringing together different stakeholder: private sector, Public Sector –National Government Ministries, Universities and Civil Societies to form technical working groups to critically analyze the existing sector plans and city’s situation. Public consultation is the ongoing stage and it involves sharing the findings from these sectoral technical working groups -the current city’s development situation, challenges and opportunities- and engaging the public in discussions in order to share their situation, build consensus and way forward.

The NCC intends to hold a total of twenty three consultative forums -one in every constituency- in Nairobi County. The exercise is expected to run from the 20/1/2014 to 13/2/2014 and will be coordinated by the County government. City residents are encouraged to make their contributions through these consultative forums.
